Zephyr Gallery is a multidisciplinary exhibition space located in the East Market Street Business District of downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The mission of Zephyr Gallery is to serve as a platform to incubate, advocate, and facilitate innovative ideas in art and artistic practices in the region. In 2014, Zephyr launched an ongoing Project series with curated proposal-based exhibitions as well as collaborations with universities, colleges, and cultural institutions.

Hours: By appointment

In 1987, before downtown Louisville re-emerged as an active business district, a small group of artists saw an entrepreneurial opportunity for a new kind of gallery and moved into an empty building on West Main Street in the middle of what was to become a re-vitalized commercial corridor of the city.

Zephyr Gallery began as an ever-changing artist-run cooperative intent on building both infrastructure and enthusiasm for local art through innovative exhibitions with the primary vision of providing individual artists control over the presentation of their work.

After 26 years as the second longest running artist cooperative in the country, Zephyr Gallery has a new mission and purpose.  It now serves as a platform to incubate, advocate, and facilitate innovative ideas in art and artistic practices through our ongoing Project Series.

Corporate Art Program

Zephyr Gallery loans and installs Kentucky regional art for individual businesses through its Corporate Art Program, which has been active since 1997. This innovative program enables businesses to select original art for their office spaces while investing in the visual arts of the city by supporting the artists that live and work in the region. Interested businesses can contact chris@zephyrgallery.org for more information.
