Artist Statement:
The Land and Rivers of Kentucky and Indiana are my home and part of my soul. Painting has allowed me to express my love for the Land. Walking in the forest or painting near the river fills me with inspiration. Painting out-of-doors “en plein air” gives me a greater knowledge of the play of light on the natural world.
In this painting series I have chartered flights over Kentucky, Indiana and the Ohio River to gather photographic references. These majestic views are colorfully interpreted using my “plein air” knowledge to create soaring images from flight. I am blessed to be able to document the changing landscape and share my work with you. A portion of my proceeds goes to Childhood Cancer Research.
